Typeface Design

GORDO (1).png

With guidance from Tal Leming, I designed my first typeface this fall. I called it Gordo, after the town in Alabama where I really learned how to letterpress print back in 2009, '10, and '11 (thank you Jessica Peterson & Amos Kennedy for the lessons and inspiration). Gordo as a name also feels bold and slab-y!

The above image is the work of the entire Graduate Typeface Design Class of Fall 2014, MICA. Featuring the work of Winnie Kuo, David Dale, Tristan Scow, Doug Thomas, Emily Tai, Emma Zhang, Daniel Sung Khang, Shiva Nallaperumal, Henry Becker, Yu Chen, Louis Luo, Lolo Zhang, Alex Jacque, Iris Josephine Sprague, Nate Gulledge, and yours truly!
