Designer & Educator

I’m Amanda Buck, a designer, educator, and maker. I specialize in web design, publication design, and design systems.

My favorite projects involve distilling complex ideas into beautiful, intelligent, and easy-to-use solutions. I believe in taking a collaborative and human-centered approach to my work. I’m an advocate for design and its power to create positive social impact—and I enjoy sharing that passion with my students.

I also love creative hobbies, learning new things, and the history and craft of letterpress printing. On the weekends, you can usually find me baking, taking a class (yoga, floral design, improv, sewing...), or making things at a print studio.

I’m currently a Senior Designer at Ashton Design and an adjunct professor at Maryland Institute College of Art, where I teach design and typography.

I hold an MFA in Graphic Design from Maryland Institute College of Art and a BS in Visual Communication Design from The Ohio State University. I live in a painted lady in Baltimore with my husband, Will.
